Solano County Friends of Animals (FOA) recently adopted their 2,000th pet, marking the organization’s success in assisting local animals. The group has been partnering with Pet Food Express to provide pet adoptions for the past 30 years. In a short span of time, they have added a cat center to the store. As a 501c3 nonprofit, the FOA is entirely volunteer-run and depends on donations to continue its work.
The Partnership for Early Access for Kids is an initiative that links children to early intervention services. This collaborative consists of over 60 public and private agencies that work with children from birth through age five. The partnership is made possible by a grant from First 5 Solano and a Mental Health Services Act. The collaborative also aims to expand the scope of services to include families with high-risk children.
