Volunteering: What is Your Passion?
Since there are so many aspects of animal rescue work, almost anyone can find ways that stem for their own love of animals in need. We have a variety of ways that people can contribute to the feral animal control in their community.
SCFOA is always looking for volunteers. The animals need any amount of time or resource you may have to offer. Whatever you love to do: baking, fund raising, garage sales, writing, working with people/public, can be used to help find permanent, loving homes for abandoned animals.
Administrative Volunteers
Volunteer organizations need lots of office-clerical type help. We need help in some of the following administrative functions:
- Committee Member
- Fund Raising
- Grant Writing
- Public Relations
- Newsletter Authoring
Medical Team
SCFOA’s medical team members work closely with our veterinarian to provide regular and consistent medical support to our foster volunteers. Our goal is to place healthy animals into loving, permanent home while providing exciting opportunites for volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering on our medical team, email us at medteam@solanocountyfoa.org or call 707.552.3323.
Adoption Counselors
Provide adoption assistance at a weekly Saturday or Sunday site for cats and dogs in at one of our adoption venues.
Garage Sale Volunteers
Several times a year, we have garage sales and fund raising events. Would you like to work at one of our garage sale events o provide garage sale items? Just let us know!
Trainers/Socialization
Many times our foster animals need to be trained or socialized – do you have experience or do you have time you can spend training a homeless dog or socializing feral kittens?
